ABOUT OUR SITE
Grandfolkies, based in Kingston, Ontario, Canada was conceived by us (Phyl and Walt Robbins) around the turn of the century; the twenty first century, that is. We are not that old!
It is an evolving web site. Initially, we concentrated on our shared interest in music, providing sample audio files and lyrics of silly songs and some rather gross “camp” type Yyucky songs, such as “Fathers Whiskers.”
This was followed by Phyl’s popular section devoted to “Song Swaps” to help people searching for old songs, lyrics and tunes.
Then, Walt added a few of his favourite fiddle tunes and the fun stuff continued with the PWRR model railroad.
Later, the site branched out quite a bit, expressing our various more serious interests ranging from Walt’s “Curmudgeon’s Corner” as well as a “Roadmap For Change” designed to help those seeking a new way of doing things.
