Here is a view of the 22 inch radius roadbed on a flat section. Across the room are wooden "risers" supporting the base for an elevated section of the roadbed.
Assuring the proper grade was one of the biggest challenges. The wooden risers had to be exactly the right height and distance from one another. We did not want a "little engine that couldn't" situation.We discovered you need a pretty long run in order to get your train from the zero point up to maximum height. Some trial and error adjustments were required.
