Most of the lumber was saved  from a previous layout we had in the basement of our Québec home. We even recycled some of the wood screws, but we could only carry our frugality so far. We did invest in new nails.

Most parts of this layout can be reached fairly easily, except for the two four by four sections at either end, which require the use of a step stool to work close to the wall. There is plenty of space in the middle of the room for two working railroaders and a few visiting spectators.
