A view of the emerging inner loop.  About half the loop 
is on the original layout. The other half is on the "island" and the 
removable insert.  All the roadbed is in and the track work will
soon begin.  It may be possible to connect the inner to the outer loop 
at the far end of the layout, but that is a nuance for later.  
There is plenty of room on the island for a three or four track freight yard.
